WSOP 2006

San Jose, July 25th

The day before heading north to Las Vegas. I am in San Jose in business purpose, first and foremost to find stuff for The Light House (www.thelighthousecr.com), secondly to network on the Pura Vida Poker event (www.puravidapoker.org). It is moving along fine with already a handful of teams in Tamarindo and the first two teams getting their act together in San Jose. With people returning to their jobs again this week and my ads kicking in, there should be more teams signing up over the next few weeks.

Just read on the internet that PokerStars are sending 1,600 players to the WSOP main event, an increase from 1,166 last year. If that 30% growth can be directly projected to players from other sites and "live" entries, there should be more than 8,000 in the main event - first prize could reach $10,000,000!

So far the other WSOP events have attracted huge crowds and once again the new record is set - it will for sure be exciting to follow.

Time for breakfast and work - new update should follow late Wednesday when I arrive in Vegas.
