in between poker days

Yesterday Sunday was spent on restitution or simply trying to recover strength. I didn´t realize how tough it had been coming through day 1 until I woke up Sunday. My body was just - TIRED - and drained of energy. I felt a craving for vitamins, vegetables and real food after having had just sandwiches, granola bars, fruit, coffee and Red Bull during play Saturday.

A visit in the gym is on my daily routine, and I also took some time in the sun at the poolside. I doublechecked on my opponents for tomorrow - Annie Duke needs no introduction, one other player has cashed twice at the WSOP 2006 so he probably knows what he is doing. None of the other names came up during my search on PokerPages and Google. Then I googled myself and realized this blog comes out on the top of the search list, so I will keep my strategy for tomorrow a secret so far ;o)

I took the liberty to go to "Olives" in the Bellagio for lunch. I had a great and original iceberg salad with eggs, avocado, tomatoes, and a "roasted bacon vinaigrette" followed by an amazing Halibut dish with morkel sauce on a bed of potato - I can still recall the feel of the tender fish and the taste of the delicious sauce - I was back to life!!

Sarah Meyers came to town with a flight from DC and we had time to check out the WSOP playing area at the Rio. We had a nice dinner at Bellagio´s Fix and talked about this and that and everything until she had to go back to her hotel to catch her standard 3-4 hours of sleep before heading to LA on an early flight. Life as an air hostess sounds pretty hard - good luck, Sarah, it was great to see you again.

Today I need to find a masseuse to fix a stiffening neck. The 12 hours seated in a horrible chair is only good for chiropractors and healers..............

Good job Henrik. Stay positive, keep your strategy in mind with every hand you play and don't TILT. You are the talk of the town and we're rooting for you. Annie is a hot babe so tell I said "what's up". Kick some butt tomorrow dude.
