Panama Saturday and Sunday
Well, the agenda shrunk as I exited the tournament at the Majestic, as you can imagine. Saturday I dedicated some quality time at the gym and between the sheets, and as I had said, I joined the Omaha No-Limit High table in the evening, only after losing around $70 at the NLHE table. At the new table I continued my rush of catching no hands, except for a couple of double-suited face cards and some aces, only to stare at a board of low cards off-suit. Did not win a single hand in 1 hour.
Back to the black jack, where I managed to count myself into a $170 win, despite their shuffling machines.
Sunday I found a nearby casino with old fashioned 6-deck shoes with manual shuffling, and they even cut it 5 decks deep!! Add to that they pay 3:2 on BJ and you can double down after your 3rd card, and you can surrender any hand. Ironically enough, I lost $200 in that game, I could not wish for a better set-up.....
At night I sat down calm cool and collected at the NLHE table, and did well to begin with. I was up $165, when a familliar face sat down to my left - it was Frank, former owner of the Lazy Wave, now a resident of Panama City! He was like I remembered him, drunk and full of bullshit (maybe Susan has more fund memories), and he was literally unconscious when I finally hit my big hand and lost on the river.
Dustin has decided to stay in Panama and play the coming $4,000 tourney next weekend - if nothing else for the side games with the Venezuelans.
