pokered out - for a few days at least

Just to sum up the last couple of days with prestigious events in the small and crazy town of Tamarindo: I managed to take second place in Junior´s $$ tourney, and last night we had my own Tournament of Champions. 17 players entered and built a nice price pool ($100 buy-in). Carlos and Rasta were dealers and they did a great job. I will be using them to next year for my own 3 Kings events for sure. They are both bi-lingual and they are fast and accurate in general.

During the second level I made a bad mistake on a misread on Chad, or rather: I did not take enough time to analyze the action, and it cost me much more than it should have. At the same time my laptop went sour on me, causing to spoend valuable table time at the "·$%&/() machine trying to give it first aid. In the end I gave up and we went on "unplugged".

I never really recovered from my chip loss, I did not get any action on my good hands. Into the fifth level I was looking at my fourth AK and this time I decided to slowplay it with a smooth-call under the gun. I got two other players with me in the pot, one of them Chad. The flop came 6-6-10 and with me being shortstacked I moved at the pot. Chad thought for the longest time (baaaad sign) but finally called with Q10. I didn`t improve and it was bye-bye Bodholdt.

It was nice to see some pretty good poker though. Only tournament winners were invited and there was a notable difference between the level of play at this event and what you see at the other and more friendly games around town. I think I have found the format for a yearly success event here.

In teh end the TPT 2005 champion Diego took down Chad heads-up and grabbed another prestigious title just 3 days after he had to concede his TPT Championship - to me
