soooooo close
We have very frequent power outages here these days, a lot of dust has been gathering around the power poles, creating short cuts, and especially when a shower hits somewhere in the area, shortcuts occur, and we lose power for sometimes hours. That is the reason why I hardly play any online tournaments anymore. I will play the occasional cash game (3-6 NLHE) and I have been doing well there, but today - after a few days of dry weather - I decided to give it a shot in a $33+R with one seat guaranteed for the WSOP Main event.
I re-bought once and added on in a 155 player field. When the re-buy break was over, there was 1 seat plus money for 2-5. I kept staying afloat all night, doing the occasional bustout of a desperate player, and all of a sudden I was chip leader with 26 players left! from here I lost a few pots and slided down to below average where I stayed until we reached the final table. I was 7th of 9, but then two players busted quite quickly and now I was 6th out of seven. Two more to go before the money. I was at 45,000+, the chip leader at 200k, when I looked at QQ in 2nd position. I raised to 9,000 (blinds 1500-3000, 150 ante), chip leader in SB called, so did BB. Flop came KJ6 rainbow. Both blinds checked, I fired 14k. SB went all-in, and I called. He had J6(!?) and I needed help. It came immediately when the king paired, but the river brought another jack to give the lucky motherfucker a full house to beat my top two pairs. Out in 7th place and zero cash, zero WSOP seat.
FUCK!!
