Had a decent day in the airspace from Liberia to Las Vegas, flights on schedule, good weather. I ran into Tom Fitzpatrick in Houston, we were on the same carrier to Vegas! Luggagae came out fast and we shared a limo - he checked in to the Rio while I am at neighboring Gold Coast.

I took the shuttle down to the strip - I was hungry!! Not only for food (had a great pasta meal at the Paris, believe it or not) but also for getting to see some hole cards. I was tired so I did not want to play for big bucks, just to sit down, have a drink and play a little. Joined a $65 tournament, one of those you can play several times a day up and down the strip, mainly designed for tourists and to lure players into the live games. The structure was horrible, you started off with just 40 times the BB, blinds doubling up every twenty minutes. Slow dealers and slow players, limper after limper. "Luckily" I was out before the hour - no way that thing could improve my game before the Main Event!

Took a glance at the WSOP room and hooked up again with Tom for an expensive glass of wine at the 1-deck Black Jack table.

Today is 4th of July, I will be registring today and probably catch a party later tonight.
